Please don't generalized. My dad isn't a Malay(Muslim) but he has a very long name too.

Sharifah, you can't squeeze your name in an immigration form. Each box is for one alphabet!! LOL So immigration accepts your first name only. My dad uses his first two names and then the family name. It's quite troublesome isn't it.

I know Syed is of Arab descent. So is Al- something because I have some friends from Qatar and Dubai.

no......malay is not a race girl.... malay is the muslims in malaysia and maybe some in singapore because of Jb and all.... if you go to indonesia and call the muslims malays they will kick your butt!
