You need to upload the image of the background that you want into Photobucket.com or imageshack.com in order to get the html codes.
When pasting the background codes, make sure you paste them at the top or bottom f every page in your blog.

I tested the codes and it worked!
<body background="url of pic"></center>
Replace the url of pic with the url of the picture you have uploaded in an image hosting website. For example:
I have circled the URL of this background.
It would look like this when I copy paste my background code:
<body background="http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a34/ALLSTARSCLUB3/digi-blog-bgpat005.gif"></center>
If I want the picture to appear here in this forum, I will copy the IMG code:
Hope this is clearer now for everyone.

Thats easy.I got the tutorial from HTMLguy of nicksplat.HX,I also tried your and I also work.If you find that HX's code is too long, here is a code which is shorter:<body background="url of images">.Here is the code which is long the HX's code:<body background="url of image"></body>
