You use brushes or sometimes erasers. I don't think there's a special technique

I think its a brush..if you don't have it then you could use the eraser tool like YZ said. But if you don't understand I mean erase the parts that you want to

I think you should use the brush that is grunchy and use transparent then do it!

easy,download them from any brush sites.. XD normally there are grunge textures XD

Oh..I know what she's talking about..you know the triangler erased bits on ashley's siggy. Those aren't really "grunges" just a technique of some sort
