ME! ME! Pick me! Pick me! LOL!
Halal is the food that Muslims can eat.
A variety of substances are considered haram (forbidden), including: pork, blood, animals slaughtered in the name of anyone but God, intoxicants (specifically alcohol) and more. That's Halal.
You can read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halal and http://www.eat-halal.com/articles/islamicslaughter.shtml
But, this is a religion issue, so don't talk about this anymore, kayz. This is a fun forum. I don't want any misunderstanding or whatever between religions. Everyone had their own beliefs. So, let's not talk about this. Sorry to ask this, everyone!
So, em.... Can you suggest Indian foods that are popular in India? |

What do you mean chaat specials?
What's puri?
What's nylon sev? Sorry for asking too many questions! I'm just curious. So this BHEL PURRI is one of your faves, right? And, what's Imli? Ok, let's talk about Indian deserts next. Um... I don't know any! |

BHEL PURI looks very much like popcorns! I've never seen this before. So do you eat it as part of the main course or dessert?
Aleen93, I think there is an explaination about puri on the previous page. It's a round shaped steamed rice. _________________

Yup..
It's ok if you ask many questions...Its good that you are wanting to know!
Its no way similar to popcorn.
It puffed rice, the white colored thing u eat.
Its very famous at the CHAAT special areas,if u guys going to little India,go check there, maybe at the restaurant near mustafa(MALL)
Chaat or chat means a mixture of sweet and sour stuff, tht makes u lick your fingers because of the taste..::YUMM::
Chaat i said cause it is easier to pronounce that way.
So did u get a jist of what i'm talkin about? _________________

Ohh.. Do you mean like appetizer? But, rice is always a main course here in Malaysia. I've never heard rice being an appetizer before. |
