One of my favorite is satay! Ohh...they are so yummy and I can eat many sticks. Members who live in Singapore - I don't know if you remember but my parents told me satays at SATAY CLUB (next to Marina Park/Merlion) was an establishment. Each time they had visitors to Singapore, they will bring their guests to SATAY CLUB. They torn that place to build new and the legendary SATAY CLUB is gone forever!
My favorite is chicken satay.
:::: BEEF RENDANG :::::
I love the Malay Beef Rendang because the beef is so tender and some of the sauce aren't too hot (as in burning my tongue). When I eat Beef Rendang, I usually love to eat them with rice. |

| I love the Malay Nasi Ayam soup but I prefer the Chinese Chicken Rice. The Malay version I had has black soy sauce over the chicken which I don't like but as usual, mom and I compromise- she prefers the malay Nasi Ayam so usually we end up going on alternate Chicken rice trip! |

I don't know any Linda Onn. I know you can't go to Chinese restaurants because they are not halal. My mom called the soup not salty but ajinomoto rich! She can't take ajinomoto.
Here's her favorite Mee Jawa. Even dad knows how to order for take away for her!
If mom says she is on a diet but dad is around the area where her favorite mee jawa stall is and he called to tell her, she'll break all her diet and order one!
Until tomorrow......... |

I know that ajinomoto. I hate that. Don't really knew why they love to put so many ajinomoto.
In Johore Mee Jawa is Mee Rebus. Jawa is sensitive in Johore cos so many Malays in Johore actually is orang Jawa but not now cos mawi (singer from one of malaysia reality tv - akedemi fantasia)is orang Jawa. I like it to. Wow so long dont eat that.
I also like to eat Mee hoon Sup or Mee Soto. Love to eat that but so many ajinomoto if eat outside

One of Malay Food that I like is Nasi Dagang. I like it very much. This food is so popular at Kelantan and Terengganu.
News about Nasi Dagang - One of the customer said he need to pay RM45 for "kepala ikan tongkol" ( what in english???).
For me, I think he never buy nasi dagang before. Most people in Terengganu ( don't ealy know in Kelantan), they eat more rice than "lauk-pauk" (what in english???). _________________

Nasi Dagang is like a herbs rice right? That is so yummy. My family is leaning towards Malay food as well because mom's home cooking is very much influence by it.

You want to say the people eat more rice than dishes!
Today mom made Nasi Lemak. After we finished our dinner only do I remember that I should have taken a few camera shots.
::::: NASI LEMAK :::::::
I cooked the rice and measure the coconut milk properly that the rice won't be too soggy. Then I blend onion, garlic and a bit of ginger in a blender. I made the kitchen sinks sticky with oil! Mom made such a yummy sambal ikan bilis (anchovies in chili paste) and she asked me to disolve the tamarind with some water. I wanted to eat some because when I was in Thailand, the staffs let me eat them dipped in sugar. When mom found out, I got a scolding and on top of that, when I ran usptairs to hide, dad started lecturing me!
We finished a whole bowl of sambal (mom made it less spicy for me), I ate 2 eggs, Tobie had one and finished the rest of the cucumbers and anchovies. We still have the rice but no more dishes!!! And I am still hungry! |

I eat like 3 dishes at Grandma's and yeah, me too, still hungry for more!
Nasi dagang? Herbs rice? I only know how to eat them. I don't really know but it's famous at Kelantan and and Terengganu! It's one of my faves!
I don't really cook because when I asked mom to teach me how to cook, she would start blabbering about how quickly I grow and time moves so fast and all. Mom, mom..... I only cut the veges and 'siang' ikan. Siang is like cut the unwanted parts of a fish and clean it. I also clean the squids and prawns.
After that, I always have to wash my hands a hundred times! LOL. My dad said I will move to the next level. CHICKENS. Ahhhh!!! * I don't know why I said that * |

You clean fish, squids and prawns?! Wow!!! I you. Wow!!!
Dad cleans the fish for mom. She'll turn green if she smells the fish blood. usually we'll get the man to clean them for us when we buy the fish in the supermarket. Kill chicken??? You got to be kidding me! I thought chicken comes chopped in pieces and clean!
Wow!!! You are really domestic. I'm only learning some but I am getting better than the normal fried eggs.
Editted to say:
I think I got NASI DAGANG wrong. Herb rice is when there are leaves sliced in thin slices and mixed into the rice. It is usually eaten with curry. I know it's Malay but maybe it's not Nasi Dagang.
animetion I know what you mean by the curry fish although I don't know what fish that is. It ::::::taste:::::: yummy and I'm still hungry. Aleen93, which food photo shall we attack here? |

I felt like a queen. :queen: Bow to me! Bow! LOL! I don't really know why my dad didn't ask the person who is responsible to cut the fish and clean it at the supermarket.
Aiya! Yep, I wanna puke when I smelt the fish blood. YUCK! The smell is like, fresh, but YUCK! I haven't 'siang' ikan for like two weeks. But, eh, don't get me wrong, I'm not going to miss it. I wish that my dad will forget the idea of me to clean the CHICKENS! No!!!!! Ahh!!!
I don't mind cleaning the squids and prawns, but fishes and chickens, no!!! But my dad force me to. He always says " How will you become a good wife in the future? What will my son in-law said?" Ahh! I said " Dad, I thought clean the fishes are for men. Women are supposed to cook! " Mom immediately run away from the kitchen. Aiya....
Please dad! If you want son in-laws, get it from my sisters! Please.....
Attacking photo? Muahahaha...... Erm, I don't understand. |
